UI/UX, Website Design + Build and Photography for Five by Five Photo AKA my first business.
I started Five by Five Photography in 2009. This business was more than just a job. It was my first love and I poured every ounce of myself into my it. If you are an entrepreneur too maybe you can relate?
During my 10+ years as a wedding, portrait and branding photographer I learned not only about the technical aspects of photography but also about how to run a successful business, connect with others in a meaningful way and most importantly the beautiful art of visual storytelling.
This job filled me up with so much joy. There was something incredibly special about being invited to join in someone’s most important life moments and I did not take this responsibility lightly.
Design Goals
→ Showcase photos with joy, laughter and pure raw emotion.
→ Create a cumulative portfolio that shows all the different verticals of photography services offered.
→ Give future clients a glimpse into what it would be like to work with me.
→ Let the photos speak for themselves by using minimal copy throughout the site.
Design Challenge
Over the years I have photographed everything from weddings to newborn sessions to branding and social media content.
I wanted to clearly organize each by category so users visiting the site could quickly find examples of the type of work they were looking for.
